DESCRIPTION OF THE SOLUTION

Two automated lines (for right and left seat lock) composed of:

  • post 10 - the original post designed for lock assembly - platinum pressing - extended with a camera system for defect identification. It is a system with manual insertion and removal of the component, while production and testing operations are carried out automatically, turntable - serves as a gateway from P10 to P20 - manual insertion, after turning the robot manipulation
  • post 20 - new post (automatic spring insertion, part testing and part marking with laser marker)
  • entry into P20 - automatically by robot or manually in case of by pass robot
  • conveyor belts - feeding of empty boxes and removal of boxes with parts
  • robot - used for component handling in the fully automated operation of Post 20. Receives the part from the turntable, inserts it into Post P20, and upon completion of operations in P20, removes the part from P20 and transfers it to the box (stacking the parts in the box in two layers)
  • two-axis manipulator - used to automatically place the paper fold into the box - separating two layers of parts. Feeding of folders via automatic folder feeder - conveyor
  • spring and prefold feeder - automatic spring feeder to both lines - creates a stack of separated springs ready for automatic insertion into the final product
  • protective fencing
Line control

To control the functions of the production line, or the corresponding stations, control from the HMI is required together with the corresponding HW buttons and switches. This control is located on the panel at post 10.

Workplace safety

The hazardous action elements of the line are located behind a protective fence, which can only be accessed via a door fitted with a safety lock with an open or closed status signal. The lock can only be opened under certain conditions (all movements are stopped or no automatic cycle is performed). When the door is open, the control system will not allow the actuators or the robot to be operated. There is also a mushroom emergency STOP button actuator near the lock, which serves as additional protection for persons, accident prevention and property damage. There are three locks in total. There is a handle on the swing door lock on the inside of the fence.
